Several people have asked how to enable the Suckerfish drop down menus in the Newswire theme for Drupal, and I keep forgetting to either post or reply. The version of Newswire that I am using isn't current with what is posted (made modifications, forgot to document modifications, too lazy to redo modifications), so I'm not sure if anything has changed procedure wise.
My explanations suck a bit, so I took a few screenshots of this site's administration pages if it helps. If I recall correctly, the README file for the theme should also show you how to enable the menus.
- Navigate to the Newswire configuration page (yoursite.com/admin/build/themes/settings/newswire).
- Uncheck the box next to 'Primary Links' under 'Toggle Display'.
Save. (Screenshot) - Navigate to the menus configuration page (yoursite.com/admin/build/menu).
- You need to select what menu Suckerfish will use. You can either use a pre-existing menu (I used Primary Link) or create a new one. It doesn't really matter.
- Navigate to the blocks configuration page (yoursite.com/admin/build/block/list/newswire).
- Move your menu into the 'Suckerfish menu' region.
- Edit your menu. Nested items will be listed in the drop down boxes. Here's a screenshot of my configuration.
Voila!
