I'm having the EXACT same issues with my current machine. I'm guessing it's the mobo too, as I've already replaced the videocard, and it's giving me the "videocard error" beeps. Been holding off on whether I should spring for a new motherboard or just wait it out and get a new pc. This one is only about 3 years old, so I feel it would be such a waste to toss it so soon . . .

Also, your drupal setup is claiming that my comment is spam.

Same situation here. My old machine really wasn't that old. Yet, it was old enough not be under warranty and not to have easily found replacements. I was hoping to squeeze at least another 2 years out of it.

Hmm yeah, I think the antispam module needs tweaking and/or replacing.

Nice selection of parts. it's refreshing to see people who know how to pick 'em, especially a fellow gamer gurl ;)

I returned my AX850 for a Toughpower Grand because the high pitched whining annoyed me. it seems most of Corsair's seasonic-based PSU's have this issue, whereas the older CWT-based ones didn't.

as for motherboard, very nice choice. Asus is the only choice this round IMO because of the intel LAN. but I opted for the Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z instead of the P8Z68-v. they're both the same price but the Gene-Z is Micro-ATX has all the fancy ROG features and red/black colors at the cost of less PCI/PCI-E slots (which I won't even use anyways, I use just 1 vid card and 1 sound card)

anyway, good luck :) she should last you a long time - the recent Asus boards are pretty rock solid.
